Then, prepare to be awestruck by one of the highlights of our tour: the iconic 12 Apostles at sunset. These stunning rock formations are a definite highlight of this day, offering breathtaking coastal views from the viewing platform.
Next, we head to Loch Ard Gorge. Learn about the history of the shipwrecks and some remarkable stories of survival that unfolded here, adding to the magic of this location.

Depending on where in Australia or New Zealand you decide to visit, your luggage will vary. For exact information please visit the "What to bring" section of each tour page.
What immunisations do I need?
For the latest information on immunisations, we strongly recommend you or contact the Travellers Medical and Vaccination Centre (www.traveldoctor.com.au) to discuss health requirements for your trip. They will advise you about appropriate inoculations.
Do I need to take any medical supplies?
It is not necessary to bring any medical supplies other than any personal items you may require. Each tour will carry an first aid box and our guides are all certified in First Aid.
How much luggage can I take?
We don't have an exact policy when it comes to luggage though we just ask our customers to be mindful that we have limited space. Generally we recommend people to bring a large backpack/suitcase with all their gear and another smaller backpack to keep on the bus and hold their daily items ( phone, water bottle, towel, sunscreen etc ) and which they used to take on walks etc. If you have a lot of luggage is best to leave the things you don't need at your hotel/hostel where they will store it for free.
Where can I store my luggage whilst on tour?
During the tour your main luggage will be stored in our trailer. This trailer is always locked however we cannot guarantee the complete safety of your gear from theft or damage. This is why it is so important to purchase a good travel insurance. If you need to store your luggage whilst away on tour, this can be done through your accommodation. Most hostel and hotels will store your luggage safely free of charge.
Will I be able to do any laundry whilst on tour?
For camping tours there will be no time to do laundry. However, for longer cross country tours involving hostel or hotel style accommodation you may have the opportunity to wash your clothes.

How fit do I need to be?
Our tours are made to be fun, informative and active and can be enjoyed by anyone with a moderate degree of fitness and agility. Travellers should be comfortable with hiking/walking up to 5km each day.
Do I need travel insurance?
Insurance is important in protecting visitors from loss or damange of goods, medical problems, cancelation by passengers or other casualties. Its highly recommended. Some tours on this website require you to have travel insurance. If you are Australian then it is not necessary.
Can I get online whilst travelling?
For tours incorporating hostel/hotel style accommodation you may have the opportunity to use wireless internet or use of nearby internet cafe. If you have a mobile plan with internet then that should be ok except for more remote regions. This will vary from tour to tour so please contact us directly for more accurate information.
Will I be able to use my mobile whilst on tour?
You can use your mobile while touring in Australia or New Zealand, but coverage may be limited in remote areas. For best connectivity, consider purchasing a local SIM card or an international roaming plan.

That being said, we cannot guarantee that spaces will be available at the time of your booking so, if you can, book as soon as possible. Bookings can still be made right up until the departure date of the tour if seats are available. Who travels with us
Is this tour for me?
Our tours are made up of small groups with a range of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Generally people who travel with us are between 20 and 49, though we also get alot passengers much older onboard - everyone is welcome! On tour we get equally as many males as females and everyone shares an enthusiasm for the out doors, nature, adventure and culture. Our tours are for those wanting to really explore and share the experience with likeminded travellers. Whether we are camping by a billabong in Kakadu National Park or sharing a cabin in Tasmania, our travellers want more than just a site seeing tour. They are chasing a hands on group experience. The trips are packed with many highlights and the pace can be fast. There may be some long drives and passengers should expect to help out when setting up camp or cooking food - this is a group adventure. However, there’s always time to chill out, have a cold beer ( or wine! ) and soak up your surroundings. As always, if in doubt then contact us directly with your concerns.
Cost and Fees
What does "Paid Locally" mean?
Some tours require you to pay national park fees directly, in cash, to the tour guide on the morning of departure. Rest assured this will be subtracted from the tour price when reserving your tour.
Will I need additional money?
Visitors are advised to bring some cash as ATMs and banks can be few and far between depending on where we are during the trip. Its handy to have some extra cash as we do stop by local shops and cafe.
Do I need to tip our guide?
If you had an amazing time on tour and wish to tip the guide, then that is completely up to you. However, tipping is not customary and is not at all expected.
Are there any hidden fees I need to know about?
Our tour prices are completely transparent. There are no additional fees involved that are not included in the overall tour price shown. If you wish to do optional activities such as helicopter rides or wildlife safaris, then an extra cost may be needed. However, this will always be made clear at the time of your booking.
Whilst on tour

Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied on these tours. If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant we can cater for you, but if you have very specific dietary needs you may need to provide your own food, please discuss this at time of booking. Had an awesome time on this trip. Our driver/host, Steve, was incredibly funny and informative. We got to experience the small towns, wildlife, 12 apostles, etc. Steve was great about keeping us on schedule without it feeling rushed. Highly recommend this tour with Steve-O!
“Excellent experience. I highly recommend it.”
A wonderful, informative tour. Beautiful scenery. James, our guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
There were several stops to admire the scenery. We also saw koalas and kangaroos in the wild.
“James Review”

We did the tour on a beautiful sunny day and saw a lot of australien wild life. In the afternoon we stopp at the Twelve Apostel and their were amazing. Our Tour guid kiwi was really nice and funny. He knows a lot facts about australia.
“Awesome views.”
The views were amazing! Before each stop, Kiri, our driver, gave us a mini history lesson and told us about some cool places to see.
“Love Steve”
I had an amazing experience visiting the Twelve Apostles, thanks to our fantastic guide, Steve. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the entire journey along the Great Ocean Road both informative and fun. Steve shared great stories, pointed out the best photo spots, and even showed us a few hidden gems along the way. His passion for the area truly elevated the tour. Highly recommend him if you’re planning a visit!

“Create trip and very convertible”
Kiwi is the best tourist and he giving a lot of information for all areas that we visited it’s amazing girl trip with the professional driver and tourist @kiwi
“Very enjoyable experience”
Here is a fair review (I hope).
The trip was enjoyable and memorable experience overall.
I would recommend the journey if you are after just a short day trip to see the area rather than experience it. I would highly recommend staying overnight a night at least if you want to really experience the great ocean road.
The quick stops allowed to barely take pictures quickly and hop back to the bus due to the length of the trip and the multiple stops at different good spots and attractions, it is nothing to do with the service though, rather than the type of the trip/itinerary.
Pros
- Chris (Kiwi) was a very safe and organised driver, also he is very friendly and knowledgeable person of the area history and geography, his commentary was very informative and educational throughout the journey, I learnt much about the Australian history from my trip today. I appreciate the extra effort he put to make the trip more fun for passengers.
- The morning tea and lunch was very tasty/lovely, with good variety of sandwiches for lunch.
- I booked last minute, thankfully they managed to find me a seat, the last one it was, and luckily, it was the front seat.
- USB ports availability for all seats, and charging cables were provided on board for those needed them.
Cons
- The back seats felt a bit cramped for tall people, also the bus felt a bit stuffy at the back due to the size of the bus and seats, it wasn't as small as a mini bus for sure, it was a mid size bus, but I would prefer to travel on a larger coach bus type for such long trips which makes them more roomy and airy.
I would love to see the bus size photo or info next time before I book a trip, I might have overlooked that info if it was already provided, sorry if it was there.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I would love to join their other trips again but rather on a bigger coach bus.
Many thanks Chris and Autopia team

The day tour to 12 Apostles and the other places had been wonderful. Ben, our guide was great and fun to go with. Looking forward to more such trips.
“IM IN LOVE”
DO THIS TOUR! It’s my first time in Australia and I spent majority of my trip wishing I came in the summer instead of the winter. It was so bleak and grey but I decided to do this trip on a whim and WOW.
Firstly, I had no clue how beautiful Victoria was since I was just stuck in the city. You have not experienced Australia until you see all of the beauty its nature has to offer. I wish I could attach pictures! Not only did we see the 12 apostles and drive through the great ocean road but we also went into the RAINFOREST. I’m in awe of Australia.
This tour has also been great at fostering community. Kiwi(aka Chris P) our tour guide was the best! He firstly invited us to introduce ourselves during the ride and he was super friendly. His welcoming spirit allowed the other tourists to get to know each other. I’m leaving this tour with 3 new friends! Also Kiwi is a history nerd in the best way possible. He knew so many facts and his passion about sharing knowledge with us made the experience so much better.
Overall this tour definitely made me appreciate Victoria and Australia more. If you would’ve asked me yesterday if I would’ve come back to Australia to visit again I would’ve said no. But after this tour I am left wanting to see more of the beauty of this country. Next time I come to Victoria I am gonna sign up for this tour again. If it was already so beautiful in the winter imagine how majestic it would be in the summer!
“KiwiBus”
We did the Great Ocean Road reverse trip from Melbourne and had a great time despite the bad weather. Our guide Chris (a Kiwi) was fantastic — funny, knowledgeable, and kept us engaged the whole way. He shared lots of interesting facts about the countryside, farms, and towns as we drove. Highlights included spotting two wild koalas. Highly recommended!
“Unforgettable”
Beautiful day, lovely places beautifully described by our guide James. Extremely nice person, attentive, kind and helpful
“Tricon friends and family”
The place is gorgeous it really deserves to go!!
Comfortable bus and very nice driver, 13 hours of travel flew
“A Coastal Dream with Kiwi’s Tour (Autopia / Klook): Nature Legen”
Touring the Great Ocean Road today with Chris from Kiwi’s Tour is simply unforgettable! His storytelling brings sites like the Twelve Apostles and Stevenson Falls to life with rich history and charm. We sip morning tea in the quaint town of Colac 🫖, wander through ancient rainforests , and spot wild kangaroos and sleepy koalas in gum trees. Chris makes every moment engaging—his warmth and knowledge turn this scenic route into a mesmerizing experience. Highly recommend this journey for nature lovers, history buffs, and anyone craving adventure with a brilliant guide!!
“Tour with James, “Wheels”- super recommended”
Magnificent experience with James, aka “Wheels”, extremely knowledgeable and nice; made the hike very interesting but, at the same time, fun!
Super recommended!
“G'day G'day”
James/Wheels was an amazing driver. Very entertaining, especially his trivia questions, and showed great hospitality. Give this man a raise!
“It was a pleasant and enjoyable tour under Autopia. Kudos for th”
It was a great experience with James as our tour guide / driver. He was cheerful and interactive and engaging. He was knowledgeable on the places we were visiting. I would definitely recommend him as the tour guide for my friends who want to visit Melbourne. Having him around reallmade our day.
“James aka best tour guide”
We had a great trip with James (wheels), who was very knowledgeable and made the trip a great one!. Would 100% recommend!
“Excellent tour”
Excellent tour guide James. Very entertaining, lots of humour. Great sightseeing and variety of interesting things. A lot of background information. Much appreciated.
“Amazing Long Road Trip”
James, our guide, is hands down the best I’ve ever had! We call him Wheels, and he truly made our Great Ocean Road tour an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the scenery was breathtaking, but what made the long journey even more special was Wheels’ warm personality and genuine passion for what he does.
He kept everyone engaged with interesting trivia about the places we passed, fun facts about the local culture, and even led us in sing-alongs that had the whole bus smiling. His choice of countryside music perfectly matched the vibe of the trip, making us feel like we were in a movie.
The Great Ocean Road itself is stunning, but with Wheels as our guide, it became more than just sightseeing—it turned into a joyful road trip with friends. I can honestly say it’s one of the most memorable tours I’ve ever taken, and I’d highly recommend booking with him if you get the chance.
“Unforgettable experience with amazing tour guide!”
Today was our very first day in Australia 🇦🇺❤️ ever and the first day of our honeymoon and it could not have been any better! We enjoyed immensely our tour of the Great Ocean Road, 12 Apostles, & Rainforest Tour. Our very professional tour guide and driver was truly fantastic as he took us to so many beautiful places, told us many many fun, interesting, and informative stories. We truly enjoyed being part of this group with James “Wheels” as our tour leader. He truly went far and beyond his task and responsibilities to make sure everyone had an unforgettable experience every step of the way. The stops were amazing and the scenery breathtaking. It was very well timed so we could do many things, take marvelous pictures, and enjoyed the 12 Apostles at maravelous sunset. James also took us out of the way to a hidden place where we were able to see in the wild and up close Koalas, which was a highlight for us as we didn’t expect it. We could not have packed more things in one long day. The Rain Forest walk was also outstanding! Will never forget it! Thank you so much James! Warmest regards, Brigid & Ignacio from South Africa 🇿🇦 & Spain 🇪🇸
“Great experience!!!! Kiwi was very nice and the places were amaz”

“Melbourne Ocean Road Tour”
Kiwi was very responsible, explained very thoroughly, very kind, very recommended for those who can not drive themselves but want to visit the activities near Melbourne, this trip was really great.
“Safe, fun and amazing views!”
Kiwi was very knowledgeable. The sights were amazing especially the 12 apostles. It was serene and breathtaking.
We had a nice lunch. Sandwiches and fruit, very refreshing.
We stopped a few times for restroom breaks. While we stopped, we were able to shop for a few minutes and also stopped at bakery. I had a donut that was outstanding.
The trip is all day. Wear comfy sneakers and dress in layers. I was cold towards the end being winter here in August.
No complaints here! Just do it!
“Great trip.”
I thought it was a great experience and would give it a five. Craig is a very good guide who not only patiently explains the sights we encounter, but also guides us along the best play routes in our scenic spots!
“Highly recommend!”
Excellent day with our guide James "Wheels." Beautiful ocean road , forest and 12 apostles with enough stops for great photos. Spotted kangaroos, emus and the even koalas. Very good plan for the day with great music and commentary and singing. We had a fabulous, relaxed trip.
“Great Day out”
James(Wheels) was fantastic.
Kept us engaged and time bound.
Can't speak highly enough, enthusiastic and engaged.
Recommend strongly.
“Highly recommended”
G’day, g’day. Awesome tour. James was very informative and entertaining. Highly recommend this tour. Many thanks James!!
“The Great Ocean Road: Amazing landscapes but fugitive animals.”
The Great Ocean Road experience was amazing, the landscapes are wonderful with unique rock formations like the Twelve Apostles.
It would be amazing if there were more opportunities to interact with the Koalas and Cangurus. For example, allow visitors to caress and feed the animals in a safe Mood.
“Great Tour”
Me and brother went to the Great Ocean Road and Twelve Apostles Tour on July 10th. There was a lot of rain and wind, but the tour was great all the same and we had the opportunity to great photos and memories!
“Nice tour.”
Picked up at the nearest hotel to the Queen Victoria Market, an early morning departure followed by a light morning tea on the way, the 12 Apostles were breathtaking beyond expectation. Meet the kangaroos, take an interesting walk in the rainforest, and twice spot koalas in the trees along the road on the drive! It was a wonderful tour with no shortage of stories from the guides. I definitely recommend you to participate. We have a few friends interested in going to Yukon, we had a good time with the guide, he was really nice!
“Highly recommended”
Very good route, very friendly attention and with additional services that demonstrate a real dedication to this work
“Definitely good itinerary & very thoughtful guide.”
Wonderful! Great idea to go to the Apostles first before the crowds arrive, otherwise would have to jostle with many people & would be challenging to take photos.
“Cracking day and top tour guide.”
What a Fantastic day I had!! It really Made my trip to Melbourne worth the drive from Brisbane. I will be going back to the uk with fond memories of the tour but more so fond memories of Joe and his subtle tone and cool stories. Hope you enjoyed the sausage roll big dawg. P.s thanks for sorting the helicopter out boss.
“It was a windy day”
We did the Great Ocean Road in reverse, and it turned out to be a great way to beat the crowds at the major stops. The scenery was absolutely stunning with plenty to see and do along the way — from dramatic cliffs to lush rainforests and charming coastal towns.
The tour was well-organized and made the most of the day, covering a lot without feeling too rushed. However, be warned — the winding roads and long hours in the vehicle can be tough if you’re prone to motion sickness.
“Kiwi was FANTASTIC”
Kiwi was AMAZING. He was so knowledgeable. So smart. Very patient. Loved his energy and humor. I would do this anytime with him. I loved it!!!!!!!

“Toms the best very insightful guy”
Tom was so smart and clever he went the extra mile for all of us making it the best experience funny and smart can’t get better!
“Well planned and enjoyable group tour”
Our guide Tom was very knowledgeable l, friendly and easy to talk to. Even when the bus broke down, he showed resilience and kept the group motivated. The tour itself was well planned and took us to all the highlights of the Great Ocean road. Overall would highly recommend this tour.
“Breathtaking experience”
Excellent day! Breathtaking views with so many weather variations. Tom C., our guide, was just amazing. Great narration, well curated music, and a wonderful sense of humour. Made the long drive feel quite short - didn’t want the day to end..,
“Amazing!”
Fantastic trip. It was a long day but Tom was lovely and informative all throughout. You should give him a raise! Only gripe was we could possibly have spent less time at the rainforest and had longer for lunch instead.
“Very informative”
We have had the most fabulous day from the first stop at the sanctuary with a coffee and a Tim Tam to seeing wallabies and koalas. Onto the gateway to the Great Ocean Road to Apollo for lunch where I had the best fish pie I have ever eaten. Spectacular scenery from the beach to the towns to the countryside.
After this, the Twelve Apostles wow sensational. T.C. has been the loveliest and very informative driver. He has been very considerate with all our stops along the way.
Thank you for a lovely day with lots of history and information throughout.
“Day on the Great Ocean Road”
Very nice day. Thomas. Our guide was very dedicated. He stopped often so that we could take beautiful photos. Thank you.
“Go For It!”
We had an absolutely beautiful day along the ocean. The 12 Apostles were stunning against the white surf and blue sky.
The lunch provided was a bit light (a sandwich and apple) maybe a small bag of chips (crisps) would have been nice.
We sat right behind Anthony, our driver, and had many interesting and informative conversations.
I highly recommend this trip
“Really fun day”
Got to see all the sights and learn lots of information, didn’t feel rushed. Also saw koalas, kangaroos and a wallaby. Anthony the driver was great
“The Great Ocean Road- an unforgettable experience”
Breathtakibg scenery together with interesting stories and explanations by Joe, our tour guide, made for an unforgettable trip.
Just the right balance between driving and stops for photos, bathroom breaks and food...
Highly recommend this experience
