Cape Tribulation is famous for its magnificent beaches, waterfalls, wildlife, sweeping landscapes and the magical daintree rainforest. Visit for a day tour or stay overnight, we promise a tropical adventure you wont forget.
Cape Tribulation, located in north Queensland’s Daintree National Park, is where the rainforest meets the reef. Nowhere else in the world can you find two World Heritage Listed areas laying side by side. Compared to other visitor hot spots in Queensland, Cape Tribulation is a place where you can experience the oldest rainforest in the world and explore the Great Barrier Reef all in one peaceful location away from the tourist track.
Cape Tribulation is located 110 kilometres north of Cairns and the sealed road along the coast offers stunning scenery while driving there. The area was named by the British Navigator Lt. James Cook on 10 June 1770 after his ship hit a reef as it passed over it. This caused James Cook to shy away from the coast moving into deeper water.
From here his ship, the HMS Endeavour, hit another reef almost sinking on what's now called the Endeavour Reef. It's through these trials that Cook named the area Cape Tribulation as it was where he says "began all our troubles".

14th May 2026 - 15 Days Brisbane to Cairns Explorer
Fraser Island was my favourite. We drove the 4WD on the beach and I could not believe this was real. Lake McKenzie also — the water is so clear it looks like someone has filled it with glass. I would tell every German traveller coming to Australia to do this package. It is worth every dollar.

15th October 2025 - 28 Days Cairns to Sydney Ultimate

30th April 2026 - 28 Days Sydney to Cairns Ultimate
The tour highlights are exactly as described. K'gari was a proper adventure — driving 4WDs along 75 Mile Beach, swimming in Lake McKenzie, camping under the stars. The Whitsundays sailing was three days of pure bliss. And the Great Barrier Reef, even for someone who's snorkelled in a fair few places, was genuinely awe-inspiring. The guides across all the tours were knowledgeable and enthusiastic without being overbearing.

20th March 2026 - 2 Day Cape Tribulation Tour
It was such a great tour! But what made it was the energy of our guide Raychel. She was awesome. She took us to the best spots, swam with us, had lunch with us, told us all sorts of stories and fun facts about what we were seeing, he DJ skills were awesome too. When she picked us up she had the biggest smile on her face so that already set the precedent for the day (good vibes only!). When we got the boat for the croc tour the guy clearly knew his stuff, knew all the crocs off by heart and where they’d be so we saw loads!
It was a really awesome day and definitely recommend it!!
