The day is finally here — the first day of your awesome K’gari (Fraser Island) adventure! Begin early at Nomads Noosa, where your luggage will be stored before heading to Rainbow Beach (1.5–2 hours). After refuelling and orientation, take a short drive to the ferry — ten minutes later, you’re on K’gari. Spend the day exploring the island before returning to camp for an authentic eco outdoor beach shower, a few drinks, and dinner by the campfire.
Day 2
Start early to make the most of your time on the island. After a continental breakfast (cereal, toast, spreads, tea & coffee), continue your K’gari adventure exploring lakes, beaches, and rainforests. Return to the same campsite, help with dinner preparation, and spend the evening relaxing and bonding with new friends around the fire.
Day 3
After breakfast, continue exploring before starting the return journey around lunchtime. Stop briefly at Rainbow Beach before driving back to Nomads Noosa, arriving between 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Hand in your linen packs for your deposit refund.
Please note: We recommend staying overnight in Noosa as return times can vary. Enjoy the post-tour party at KB’s Bar to celebrate the end of your incredible adventure! Guests finishing in Rainbow Beach will be dropped in town en route.

What should I pack?
Depending on where in Australia or New Zealand you decide to visit, your luggage will vary. For exact information please visit the "What to bring" section of each tour page.
What immunisations do I need?
For the latest information on immunisations, we strongly recommend you or contact the Travellers Medical and Vaccination Centre (www.traveldoctor.com.au) to discuss health requirements for your trip. They will advise you about appropriate inoculations.
Do I need to take any medical supplies?
It is not necessary to bring any medical supplies other than any personal items you may require. Each tour will carry an first aid box and our guides are all certified in First Aid.
How much luggage can I take?
We don't have an exact policy when it comes to luggage though we just ask our customers to be mindful that we have limited space. Generally we recommend people to bring a large backpack/suitcase with all their gear and another smaller backpack to keep on the bus and hold their daily items ( phone, water bottle, towel, sunscreen etc ) and which they used to take on walks etc. If you have a lot of luggage is best to leave the things you don't need at your hotel/hostel where they will store it for free.
Where can I store my luggage whilst on tour?
During the tour your main luggage will be stored in our trailer. This trailer is always locked however we cannot guarantee the complete safety of your gear from theft or damage. This is why it is so important to purchase a good travel insurance. If you need to store your luggage whilst away on tour, this can be done through your accommodation. Most hostel and hotels will store your luggage safely free of charge.
Will I be able to do any laundry whilst on tour?
For camping tours there will be no time to do laundry. However, for longer cross country tours involving hostel or hotel style accommodation you may have the opportunity to wash your clothes.
Do I need a sleeping bag?
For all camping tours require you to have a sleeping bag. If you don't have one they may be available for hire via the "join tour" button.
How fit do I need to be?
Our tours are made to be fun, informative and active and can be enjoyed by anyone with a moderate degree of fitness and agility. Travellers should be comfortable with hiking/walking up to 5km each day.
Do I need travel insurance?
Insurance is important in protecting visitors from loss or damange of goods, medical problems, cancelation by passengers or other casualties. Its highly recommended. Some tours on this website require you to have travel insurance. If you are Australian then it is not necessary.
Can I get online whilst travelling?
For tours incorporating hostel/hotel style accommodation you may have the opportunity to use wireless internet or use of nearby internet cafe. If you have a mobile plan with internet then that should be ok except for more remote regions. This will vary from tour to tour so please contact us directly for more accurate information.
Will I be able to use my mobile whilst on tour?
You can use your mobile while touring in Australia or New Zealand, but coverage may be limited in remote areas. For best connectivity, consider purchasing a local SIM card or an international roaming plan.

Booking the trip
Do I have to book this tour online?
Definitely not. Our website is designed to make is easy and convenient for you to schedule your tour. However we understand sometimes its nice to talk to someone directly. So by all means give us a call and we can organise your trip over the phone.
If I book more than one tour can I get a discount?
Absolutely! If you are booking multiple tours then we may be able to offer you a discount. Send us an email at info@lostinaustralia.org and let us know what you thinking of doing and we can put together a price for you.Also, be sure to look out for monthly specials on tours. We often have some great bargains.
How do I know when a tour is available?
You can check the departure dates of tours by using our calendar on the top right hand corner of the tour page. This will tell you what days the tour departs. For availability of seats please contact us directly at info@lostinaustralia.org or call us.
Can I just do a section of this tour and not the whole trip?
Unfortunately it is not possible to only do a part of the tour. Passengers generally need to stay with the tour from start to finish.However, drop off locations at the end of the tour made me negotiated.
Does the tour price include flights?
No. Tour prices do not include any travel arrangements other than for the duration of the tour itself. If you need assistance with booking flights or buses our travel team and certainly help - Just ask!
How far in advance do I need to book my tour?
As a rule of thumb we generally say AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to departure, this will usually get you a seat on the date you want. That being said, we cannot guarantee that spaces will be available at the time of your booking so, if you can, book as soon as possible. Bookings can still be made right up until the departure date of the tour if seats are available. If you know when you'd like to travel, please contact us and we will let you know if you need to book soon or if you have time.
If I make a deposit only, when will I need to pay the balance?
Balance on tours need to be paid at least 30 days prior to departure. Failure to do so could result is the cancellation of your seat with a fee charged. If you need more time to clear your balance then let us know ASAP and arrangements can be made.
Who travels with us
Is this tour for me?
Our tours are made up of small groups with a range of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Generally people who travel with us are between 20 and 49, though we also get alot passengers much older onboard - everyone is welcome! On tour we get equally as many males as females and everyone shares an enthusiasm for the out doors, nature, adventure and culture. Our tours are for those wanting to really explore and share the experience with likeminded travellers. Whether we are camping by a billabong in Kakadu National Park or sharing a cabin in Tasmania, our travellers want more than just a site seeing tour. They are chasing a hands on group experience. The trips are packed with many highlights and the pace can be fast. There may be some long drives and passengers should expect to help out when setting up camp or cooking food - this is a group adventure. However, there’s always time to chill out, have a cold beer ( or wine! ) and soak up your surroundings. As always, if in doubt then contact us directly with your concerns.
Cost and Fees
What does "Paid Locally" mean?
Some tours require you to pay national park fees directly, in cash, to the tour guide on the morning of departure. Rest assured this will be subtracted from the tour price when reserving your tour.
Will I need additional money?
Visitors are advised to bring some cash as ATMs and banks can be few and far between depending on where we are during the trip. Its handy to have some extra cash as we do stop by local shops and cafe.
Do I need to tip our guide?
If you had an amazing time on tour and wish to tip the guide, then that is completely up to you. However, tipping is not customary and is not at all expected.
Are there any hidden fees I need to know about?
Our tour prices are completely transparent. There are no additional fees involved that are not included in the overall tour price shown. If you wish to do optional activities such as helicopter rides or wildlife safaris, then an extra cost may be needed. However, this will always be made clear at the time of your booking.
Whilst on tour
What will the food be like?
Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied on these tours. If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant we can cater for you, but if you have very specific dietary needs you may need to provide your own food, please discuss this at time of booking. For breakfast we supply cereals, fruits, toast, tea and coffee. Lunch is usually a self-serve picnic sandwich and salads; in the evening we have a cooked dinner - This can vary between pastas, bbqs, rices and other hearty food to keep you energized! We always carry water in the vehicle and you will often have the chance to buy your own drinks, ice-creams etc at stops. Please refer to each individual tour/package to establish which meals are included.
Can you cater of special diets?
We can certain cater for most dietary needs. Please advise us at the time of your booking so arrangements can be made. For travellers with more extreme diets we may ask that you bring along additional snacks.
Can I book extra accommodation for the start and end of the tour?
We know our country inside and out and would be happy to give you good recommodations. Please contact us for recommendations.

I did the 3 day tour with a pre night accommodation. I found the tour was very well organised we got picked up from our hostel in Hervey Bay and was shown around the local area before making way to the barge.
During our stay at kingfisher the staff were very helpful and friendly and our shared lodge accomadation was clean.
The food included in the tour was fantastic and had plenty to go around.
Our tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable about the island and made us feel welcome.

If you come to Fraser Island make sure you get Davy as your tour guide on the Cool Dingo tours. And book the 3day tour. Davy has an endless knowledge about Fraser, the aboriginal culture, trees and shows you the most awesome places. Besides that he is big fun, has the best music playlist and is the coolest person I've ever met. And he has never touched snow in his life He is just adorable and made the tour special to us all.

Excellent tour and Frasier Island is a gem! As I was taking this tour I tried to imagine myself navigating these "roads" with a 4x4 and could only think about how much focus it would require and stress it would cause instead of fully enjoying the trip.
We have been doing quite a lot of traveling around Australia (Perth to Hervey Bay via Darwin) and have planned everything ourselves. I was actually able to sit back and enjoy this tour while meeting cool people and not having to cook a meal.
The bus (monster truck) we took was comfortable and we met a lot of nice people over our 3 days. We hit all the hotspots and a little more and during the night you have access to the resort where you can swim in the pool or relax in the Jacuzzi. The accommodations were nice (think small hostel room with four bunk beds) and comes with a living area.
Finally... Scotty was such a good tour guide. He was a endless source of information about the island and really wanted all of us to have a good time. He handled the roads like a pro and had us rolling with laughter throughout. Thanks a lot for the great tour. I don't know what the other tours are like but I would definitely recommend this one.

We went on a 3 day 2 night tour, everything was as good as you can hope when going for a tour as a couple. Every day is organized as well as it can be, the places, the driving and the food. The accommodations were really good and better than sleeping in a tent or less. Above all was our guide #@Scoty who knows everything about the island, let you feel save while driving and let all together becaome an experience for life.

I really had a great time on Frasier Island. Our tour guide Scotty was really fun. Even though you get to explore the Island with a bus and you cannot drive by yourself the offroad bus is also very bumpy and a lot of fun. The island is scenic. There was plenty of food.

My 3 day tour on Fraser Island was without a doubt my favorite tour on the whole East Coast. Everyday was different and even though we were unlucky to encounter rain for one whole day of the tour, the sites which we saw were still utterly breath taking.
During our 3 days on the Island, we went to Lake Mckenzie, Basin Lake,Central Station/Pile Valley, Maheno Wreck, The Pinnacles Colored Sands, Champagne Pools, Indian Head, Eli Creek, Lake Birrabeen, Hammerstone Stand blow and Lake Wabby. We were also lucky enough to see some wild Dingos!
Lunch was provided on all 3 days, as well as tea/coffee, fruit and biscuits throughout the day.
Our friendly tour guide Tom was very knowledgeable about the island and all the spots which we went to. There were certain spots on the island where you had to be quite skillful when it came to driving (we got stuck on a couple of occasions behind some inexperienced drivers) so I'm glad we had Tom driving us around as opposed to being part of a tag-along tour.

I did the 3-Day/2-Night tour and had the best time. Our tour guide (Scotty) was great fun and really knowledgeable about the island. We had more food on the trip than you could ask for and the accommodation at the wilderness lodges was comfortable and clean. Everything was really well organised and we got to see a lot of the sights without each stop feeling rushed. Fraser Island itself is beautiful and I would definitely recommend staying the extra night and doing the 3 day tour as the last day was actually my favourite.

Wilderness lodges are the perfect social location right next to the dingo bar where you get an amazing buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Bar has pool and ping pong. Props to Scotty the best tour guide we could ask for! Walked in the rainforest, went to loads of lakes, went paddle boarding! Lunches were awesome and the cookies are out of this world!! Best 3 days of my travels in aus! Would do it all again.

Absolutely loved this tour. I did the 3 day tour with my friends and we loved it. You will see amazing placew such as the rainforest walk, lake makenzie, eily creek, indian point and the unbelievable sand dunes and oasis after the "walk of death". We also had free paddle boarding and a sea plane tour of the island which was 80 dollars extra.Our tour guide dave was amazing and so helpful and informative as well as being hilarious. Definitely would say this is an active tour with a lot of uphill walking in warm weather so come prepared with water and trainers but so worth it for all the views.

Thank you Cool Dingo tours for such a wonderful 3 day 3 night stay on your beautiful island! We arrived to our bags just a short way from our lodge... very helpful so we didn't have to lug them around. The lodges aren't amazing but they're comfortable, clean and well equipped. To be honest we weren't expecting them to be 5*. We were able to use all the Kingfisher resort facilities which was really nice, the pool areas and beach are lovely. There's a courtesy bus to transport you to and from the beach and reception as the lodges are a fair walk away. The dingo bar has ok food, but the lunch on the tour I think was better. I'm a vegetarian and one night they ran out of the veg option but there was plenty of fresh salad to have. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bar games are really fun. As the tour goes it was great, our guide Jarred was just a really nice guy and really knowledgeable and informative too. From the bush walks to Lake MacKenzie to driving along the beach highway... All in all an amazing experience.

• Scotty are tour guide was fantastic , full of banter and a good laugh. Also had great knowledge of Fraser Island and looked after everyone and made sure we were having the best trip
• The food was amazing, you never ever went hungry. Breakfast was a full English or continental and through out the day you were constantly supplied with lunch and snacks and at night you helped yourself to a buffet dinner. They catered for everyone with a large variety.

Booked on to the 3 day 2 night tour to Fraser island. Absolutely amazing I had THE BEST 3 days. Massive thanks to Mick our tour guide - great bants and made it what it was. We covered a large amount of fraser island all having a go driving the 4x4's which was so much fun.
There was about 32 of us on our tour for the 3 days. By the end of the tour I knew everyone and we called the group our fraser family. This tour is the perfect opportunity to make friends if you're a solo traveller or extend your group if you're travelling with friends.
The campsite you stay in is secured so Dingoes/animals can't enter which was nice knowing we were safe - We didn't see any Dingoes unfortunately but maybe next time!
Lake McKenzie is gorgeous along with champagne pools, Lake Boomanjin, Inidan Head view point and everything else on the island. Cant recommend this tour anymore I had the most amazing time.

Loved everything about this tour! Did the 2 nights 3 days. The lodges were cozy, food was absolutely AMAZING!! Really really impressed with the food. The cookies we had during the day were wonderful as well. Really got to see Fraser in depth and I absolutely loved it. But most of all, our tour guide was the best! Davey was the funniest and best tour guide I have ever had. His stories and jokes would crack me up. This tour was the highlight of my trip! Will definitely recommend to others

This Fraser Island tour was absolutely incredible - the most fun 3 days we had on the whole of the east coast. The activities you do are so much fun and things I probably wouldn't ever get the chance to do again. If you can I would definitely recommend driving as I think this made the experience even better! It helps if you have a great group in your car like we did but it doesn't really matter if not as you also have a larger outer group who you are with the whole time! Would recommend to anyone - special mention to our lead driver Bretto who was such a legend and made our tour the best it could be!

We booked the 3 day, 2 night tour with Cool Dingos and it was the best experience we have had in Australia. Fraser Island is such an interesting place and our amazing guide Davy made this trip absolutely first class. He had so many good stories, clearly knew so much about the Island and was such a good laugh. He really made sure we had the best time and always had us laughing - he made the trip!
The tour itself is jam packed and really worth the money - especially considering the quality of the food and accommodation. Cool dingos also made everything so easy with all the logistics. I can't rate this tour highly enough and if you get a say on who your tour guide is, pick Davy!

oh my gosh!!!! did the 3 days 2 nights tour and it was sooo awesome! there was so much to explore and see. after being on the island for all of about 10mins I already saw a dingo. I was surprised by how much I was fed, I had brought my own snacks along an didn't even need them. as breakfast lunch SNACKS and dinner were provided and amazing. The wilderness lodges were brilliant also with comfy beds, warm showers and not a too far drunk walk from the dingo bar in which I spent every night. highlights of the trip was stand up banana boat paddling, hugging a giant tree, rolling down a sand dune and riding up front with the awesome guide Scotty and practicing my singing. will deffo be recommending to all my friends! cooldingos rocks

I booked onto the 3 day/4 night Brisbane Return trip. From my pick up in Brisbane to my trip on the island and then back again - everything was beyond my expectations.
I arrived late on the last ferry to Kingfisher bay resort (the resort on the island which Cool Dingo Tour operates on). I was booked in quickly and taken to my accommodation cabin via the shuttle. The actual resort is so beautiful, which is awesome because you get full access to it (pool/hot tub/internet etc).
Once in my cabin, I met the girls in my room as they were getting ready for bed - I was travelling on my own, they were all lovely.
First day we had breakfast (the food is AMAZING!!!) and met our ranger Jarrad.
Unfortunately we a bit of rain on the first 2 days, but by the third it was blue skies. Jarred was super knowledgeable about the island, the animals on it and the nature.
We visited almost everything worth seeing over the 3 days - Lake Mackenzie and the hidden lake in the sand dunes I think were my favorite!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour - The organisation is spot on and I always felt safe and had an amazing time!

I had an amazing time with Cool dingo Tour on beautiful Fraser Island. I took a two days trip and I regret I didn't take a 3 days tour. Everything was perfect: the island itself is beautiful and the organisation by cool dingo very good. But the big surprise was the guide, Dave, who was so much fun. He kept giving us a lot of information on the island, the flora and fauna, he spotted wildlife for us, he told us a lot of stories and made a lot of jokes to keep us entertained and help us relate amongst eachother, especially in the evening time. He was at the same time very organized, thoughtful and a great driver :-). The accomodation and the food were as well excellent. We were fed very often. I appreciated a lot the fruit and snacks available at all times. During the trip we spotted and observed several dingos. The only thing I found uncomfortable were the seats of the bus/truck (uncomfortable for the neck and head). But this was really a small detail which I could neglect because all the rest was just amazing. I consider it the best trip in Australia so far.

Had an excellent time on Fraser Island doing the 3days 2nights on the bus. Accommodation was great. Laundry facilities. Food was good and lots of it.
Day 3 was maybe dragging out the tour slightly.
Wouldn't advise doing the flight as very expensive and the couple that did it when I was there only got 5mins in the air not 15!

We did the cooldingo 3day/4night tour and loved every minute.
The food at the dingo bar and lunchtime meals when we got off the coach were delicious.
Our accommodation was in the resorts lodges and the rooms were clean, air conditioned and a short walk to dinner.
Our tour guide was named Scotty and he really made the experience special. He had the perfect balance of letting us do our own thing at the lakes and on hikes but was also incredibly attentive and helpful. Scotty was a brilliant tour guide in every way, my friends and I cannot fault him or the tour at all.
I highly recommend this tour if you want to do and see everything there is to see on Fraser Island.

Just got back from our 2n/3D trip with cool dingos! Has been the hi light of our Aussie trip so far and we have been here a year!
Our guide Dave was a legend! He knew so much about the Island, was full of stories and over all made our trip the best it could be.
The food and accommodation were amazing couldn't fault it, the Anzac biscuits were dangerously good! The dingo bar was expensive for backpackers and you can't take your own goon in the bar, however you can drink as much as you want in the lodges, so buy before you come! It was $70 for a carton of beer in the local shop!
Overall had an amazing 3 days, would definitely recommend

Just got back from this tour and feeling the holiday blues! K'gari (fraser island) is stunning and our tour guide Dave made our trip amazing. We never usually go down the tour guide route as we find it to be impersonal and usually robotic but Dave was brilliant - highly recommend! The food was really nice, lots of different options and always fresh. Accomodation was clean and comfortable, would advise to bring your own alcohol as it is expensive once you get there. Thanks for a great trip Cool Dingos/Dave!!!

I arrived on November the 1st, quiet late at the wilderness lodge.
Still got some good dinner at the dingo bar and met a lot of nice people.
Only problem I had that evening was a booking problem the resort had , where my room was already fully booked.
But they gave me a solo room as an apology.
Next day our adventure with dingo tours began.
We had an awesome tour guide called Darren , who was well informed about the Island and could tells us the facts without making it boring.
We went to see a lot of cool sights the day and the following day as well.
We went to Lake mckenzie , had a bush walk, saw an awesome sunset at the beach ,went to Indian Heads , the champange pools, saw the wreckage of the Maheno and went to flow on some pool toys down Eli creek.
We also had lots to eat during our adventure.
All 3 meals as well as afternoon tea and there was always some snacks on the bus (4wd bus).
Made some good friends on the trip as well.
All in all I had a great time and would always choose cool dingo tours for a second tour.

Firstly, the tour guide was what made the trip. Such a funny funny 3 days! Such good value for money. Accommodation was incredible, clean and comfy. Food was beautiful and accomdated for all dietary requirements. Overall - 10/10 trip!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Me and my boyfriend did the 3 day/night cool dingo tour and can't recommend it highly enough. Dave our tour guide and driver was fab, and made it one of the best tours we've been on in Australia. We stayed in the lodges which were clean and practical, but most of the time was spent out on tour and at the cool dingo bar. We can't thank Dave enough as he was clearly very knowledgeable, and has an awesome sense of humour. p.s the ANZAC biscuits that were brought on the tour are pretty good too!

I booked the 3 night 3 day all inclusive tour. It was pretty full on with early starts and packed days. We traveled in purpose built bus/lorries and we toured the whole island, swam in lakes, the champagne pools, hiked through forest and over sand dunes, rubber tubes down a creek and paddle boarded too. It was an amazing trip, fully catered and the guide Megan- she was brilliant, full of fun and her knowledge was exceptional

This tour was amazing and the only way to see all the best bits of the island!! It was amazing value for money and our tour guide (Megan) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about the history of the island and have some fun as well! My friends and I chose to do the 3 day tour and it was certainly the best choice.
The dingo bar was really good but the bar man was slightly rude and not very helpful.

Have just done the 3 day/2 night tour with my partner and what a great tour it was!
The guide was fantastic from the start and really went out of his way to make sure that we all had a fantastic time. Not only that but he gave so much information about the island and wildlife, it was obvious he knew what he was talking about which really did add a lot to the trip!
We visited all the main locations during the tour with day two in particular being a stand out one!
If I had one moan it would be that day three was a little forced, after you’ve been to see Lake Mackenzie the other lakes don’t really stack up. If I could do it again I probably would have sacked the third day but this really doesn’t take away from what was a really worthwhile few days!
The administration from start to finish was impressive and the customer service was fantastic from all the staff. We stayed in the Wilderness Lodge which didn’t meet my expectations but I’ll save that for my review of the resort itself rather than the tour.
Thanks a lot though, would highly recommend Cool Dingo!

Just completed the 3 day 2 night tour with Dave as our guide. I was so sad to leave, the tour was planned perfectly from start to finish and we managed to see and do so many amazing things. The island itself is breath-taking. Dave was very knowledgable and personable and instantly formed a good relationship with the group. The food was also brilliant! I would love to come back again one day

I did the 3 day 2 night tour and it was absolutely incredible, definitely one of the highlights of my trip!!!! The group on the tour was great as it was all young travellers with a great vibe. Dave our tour guide was fabulous, he was so knowledgeable about the island and hilarious he really made the trip.
Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend

We were two 21 year olds who did the 3 day 2 night stay and loved every minute! Got to see so much of the island, swim in the lakes and pools and paddle board! Food was fab and the evening was enjoyable and boozy for those who felt up for it!
Dave was the best tour guide ever, he made everything so personal and knew everything there was to know about the animals that live on the island, the history and the plants that grow here. He made the whole experience and was more a friend than a tour guide, he was fab!
The big pink bus was fun, and bumpy! So strap yourselves in for a mad bumpy ride through the forest!!! We got to see turtles, humpback whales, a manta ray and a shark and not to forget the famous dingos throughout the trip which was an insane experience! We also got to do an optional scenic flight which allowed us to see so much more of the island and allowed us to see the whales from up top which was incredible !
Loved it and 100% recommend to everyone! Thank you Dave!

We recently enjoyed a 3 day 2 night tour with Scotty as our driver guide. We went as a couple and where pleased to see a wide age range between 18 and early 30's as well groups, couples and solo travellers.
The tour around the island itself was fun and enjoyable. Scotty brought paddle boards and beach balls etc to keep everyone entertained at the beautiful lakes.
The accommodation was basic but much better than camping would have been and the food was really decent.
Would recommend this tour to anyone.

We had an amazing time on our tour in Fraser Island. We did 3 days and 2 nights on the island. Craig our tour guide made the tour awesome with his knowledge, humour and love for the island. We saw all the main sights without feeling rushed. Craig went out of his way to organise a flight for us as the previous days were full.
The only thing I would change would be the interaction between the tour and hotel staff. We opted for upgrade as this was our honeymoon l. Our bags went to the wrong place on arrival and departure. On arrival back in Hervey Bay the bags were left on the island despite reminding the hotel staff three times about our departure. Our breakfast in the hotel was not marked down as being included so on both mornings we had the question this with staff. The staff at the bar were rude to us when we ordered a cocktail with our vouchers before another staff member stepped in and authorised them.

Fraser is a must-do if visiting the east coast. Cool Dingo are a great company who make visiting the best bits of Fraser easy. The itinerary is on their site but I'd like to say that the guide (Craig) was fantastic, he really got involved and made it his mission to ensure people enjoyed the trip. The resort itself is great. Food and accommodation were spot on (I stayed in a 4 share dorm). Plenty of hot water - you need a shower at the end of each day. This is a very active tour so perhaps those with mobility problems may not enjoy it so much. There is quite a bit of time on the coach as progress is slow, due to the state of the tracks (they aren't roads). Very bumpy - no good for those with back issues. If you can, pick up a ranger tour before you head back to the mainland. It's worth it. I loved this trip and would do it again in a heartbeat. Oh, finally, there was a mixup with my return shuttle (after the ferry to mainland) and they went out of their way to fix it quickly.

I loved the tour! I spent 3 days on Fraser Island and I'm very happy about that. The price is very good for all of the things. I enjoyed the guide, Scotty who was very fun and qualified. I enjoyed the food and the company of the other people. If you want to go in Fraser Island, you have to choose Cool Dingo... Enjoy the Island!

He kept us entertained and educated us very well in the meantime:)
The views were beautiful, lakes, forests...
Also did the Air Fraser flight.. BEAUTIFUL.
Really don't have any negative thoughts about it.

Really loved our 3 days on Fraser Island. Super well run and Scotty is an awesome guide, enthusiastic, and friendly. He kept us on schedule but made sure it was a fun tour and played some entertaining tunes for the drives. We got to see a lot of the island, including the major sights like Lake McKenzie, Indian Head, and Maheno shipwreck. You can even do a 15-minute flight over the island - so cool.
It is a big tour group - about 36 people - but it was a lot of great people from all over the world and having that many people didn’t seem to be a negative.
We lucked out with great weather, though a little chilly on the last day. I’d be unsure if the tour would be as good with bad weather so maybe check before you go.
We upgraded to the hotel which I wouldn’t recommend. The rooms weren’t that much better and the food at the Dingo Bar was excellent and cheaper (the $20 meal voucher with the hotel upgrade won’t cover dinner at the hotel). Lunches on the go were also great, especially as a vegetarian.
We debated doing a tag along self-drive tour but are really glad we did this instead. We regularly saw drivers get stuck in the sand - it’s definitely some hard driving there. Plus our bus was able to go a lot faster, allowing for more time out of the car instead.
I definitely recommend doing the extra day to enjoy all of Fraser Island.

Fantastic 3 day tour on Fraser! Mark was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide; he really went out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time. We saw dingoes, whales and sea eagles. Lots of swimming in lakes and pools. The scenic flight was great. Thanks for sharing your beautiful island, amazing weekend!

Get around Drop Bear and all their tours! A great bunch of staff, run by an awesome bloke Mark - aka papa bear, whom we were fortunate enough to have as our tour guide! Great food, great local information (Mark provided personal stories as he pretty much grew up on the island), great 4WD's, great camping spots, all sights seen with plenty of time to look around! Can not thank Drop Bear, Mark, Josh, Emily, and the rest of the Drop Bear crew for making the experience so memorable! If you want a quality, good bang for buck tour, get around Drop Bear! Cheers legends!

Fantastic tour led by the very knowledgeable and patient Hayden. We were on Fraser at a busy school holiday time and Hayden negotiated the roads like a champion and gave us plenty of time at all the sights. Great value to do the 3rd day and we paddle boarded on one of the lakes for over an hour after a sumptuous buffet lunch at Eurong resort. Top food whole tour (BLD) plus Anzac cookies for arvo tea and the accomodation an easy walk to Dingo bar and full use of Kingfisher Bay resort facilities including the big pool and spa. Highly recommend as best $450 u will spend when traveling Australia. Thank you Hayden and Cool Dingo.

The Fraser Island trip was possibly the best 3 days of my entire trip, that and the Whitsunday trip. 100% though what made it so much better was our tour guys Davy Cronin. The guys is a legend, SOOO entertaining, made the trip so much more fun. If we had a regular guy with a more bland personality then it may not have been as good an experience. Davy even did the last two days of the trip despite hardly being able to talk on the last day due to a fever, he was really struggling, but pressed on. All in all it was an awesome experience.

Yes it was a good trip, worth the money. One thing I will give feedback on is the website states between 10 to 15 size group, but I was in a very large group with over 30 people which spoilt the experience.
They were very accommodating with my dietary requirements for the main meals but I could not eat any of the afternoon tea.

The 3 day 2 night tour was amazing! Got to see so much and such beautiful settings. Our tour guide Scott and Priscilla the pink bus helped make the trip, so knowledgable about the island and it's history, he was a good sport and a laugh - especially his Elmo voice! We saw a Dingo and 2 babies at central staton which was fab and we all felt safe with Scott (aka Mr Incredible)
Lake Mackenzie is like paradise, white soft sand and clear blue waters. The different aspects to the island are captivating - how it changes from bush to rainforest is just spectacular. You have to see it to experience such a unique place.
Had a really good group and we all became friends having drinks and dinner together in the evenings. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and thanks to all the staff who work so hard to make it happen - tour guide, chef for the fab food and amazing cookies!! Fraser will always have a place in my heart and I have great memories I will never forget.
