Itinerary
An action-packed day from Launceston to Hobart via world-famous Wineglass Bay and the east coast.
This morning takes us through the well-preserved Georgian townships of Evandale and Campbell Town, with a short stop in Campbell Town to collect lunch, discover the Convict Brick Trail, visit the Red Bridge and see the tree sculptures depicting the town's history. Then we travel to the east coast.
Inside Freycinet National Park, we walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout — a moderate uphill walk of around 45 minutes (1.3 km up, then down), one of Tasmania's Great Short Walks — for that world-famous view.
From the lookout, return with your guide, or keen walkers can continue down to Wineglass Bay Beach (a 2.5-hour return walk) for lunch, a swim or a wander along the white sands. Prefer a shorter option? Explore other areas of Freycinet — Honeymoon Bay and Cape Tourville Lighthouse.
We regroup for the return journey, with a final stop at the stunning Devil's Corner Winery (wine tasting, wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood, oysters and ice creams available at your own expense), arriving in Hobart around 6:00pm.
Please travel with one suitcase/travel pack per person plus a day pack; let our team know in advance if you have excess luggage. We pick up and drop off door-to-door from an extensive range of hotels; if your accommodation isn't on our list, you'll be collected/dropped at a central location.

Fantastic day at Cradle Mountain, thanks to Graeme, who not only made this place more incredible than it already is, but also made the journey there an extremely fun and interesting ride with his vast knowledge of the destination and the surrounding areas.
We did the Dove Lake Circuit and a short walk nearby to view the wombats. Heading home, we stopped off at the Raspberry farm for some delicious coffee and souvenir shopping.
We would highly recommend booking with Tours Tasmania for a stress-free and wonderful experience.

You will need some luck with the weather, which we did. Graeme was our tour driver and was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information throughout the journey there and back. Tours Tasmania also provide wet weather gear and gloves and beanies. Once you arrive at Cradle mountain you are free to choose your own walk, the tour guide does not join you.

Our guide Damian shared interesting information about what we were seeing en route. He was able to offer specific suggestions for different walks at Cradle Mt that suited a variety of participants/skill levels. We did the Dove Lake circuit walk and really enjoyed it. Graeme picked us up on time at the destination we choose from the list in Launceston. We picked up 3 more groups 7 people in all. We followed the plan set out. Graeme was wonderful at clearly sharing the plan of the day. He also was very informative and shared about each area we were in. Graeme actually went on the hikes with us and pointed out key information and answered our questions. We appreciated that he adjusted the main hike for the more advanced hiker, the family, and the older couple. He met all our individual needs and was gracious about all the adjustments. About 3:00pm we switched vehicles depending on who was returning to Their original location or moving on to the other side of Tasmania. At this point we headed to Hobart with our new tour operator/driver Clinton. He was a skilled storyteller and shared much information about Tasmania. We made one stop at a beach. He graciously retold stories and info for us new to the van. We still got our full tour and more. He also slowed a bit for photos. Clinton G. dropped each of us off at our hotels… all on time. We had a great day and learned so much. Great tour. Great tour guides.

The island is like an ark for native animals. Wonderful experience seeing many wombats, pademelons, bandicoots, cape barren geese and green parrots. This is what I came to see. For others with different preferences there is the historical side which is well preserved. Great experience.

Tour was really good. Was a friendly and informative environment. The rainforest was refreshing and very nice to walk through. Bongarong was amazing, shame we only spent an hour there but I would’ve stayed there all day if we could. No koalas to be seen, none in Tasmania apparently. Mt. Wellington was good; bumpy ride but great view from the top.

A very enjoyable trip, in a small group. A minivan ride from Launceston to Cradle Mountain, and then a choice of hikes. The walks were a little challenging in places, but manageable for most people of reasonable fitness. It was nice to meet people in a small group, and it was a very enjoyable day.

Had a really good day the Tahune Airwalk was a beautiful walk it’s a good hike if you have nice weather and the cave at Hastings is a really good experience as well unfortunately for my particular tour the thermal springs was closed but overall really good day I highly recommend if you are staying in Hobart.

We visited some wonderful places. Tip: if you're fit enough, go down the 1000 steps to Wineglass Bay and back (though you don't have long there — about 20 minutes); if you prefer something more relaxed, the guide will drive you to beautiful Honeymoon Bay. Later the group splits and those continuing to Hobart move to another bus, which went smoothly. Everyone was lovely, and you see a lot in a short time.

Had a great time with Andrew on the Bruny Island Day Tour. Mum said it was the best tour she has been on. Andrew was very thoughtful and accomodating. The stops are a great mixture of beautiful landscapes, lovely walks and importantly of course, FOOD. What can we say, we are foodies. The day flew, and we made so many memories. It is a bit pricey for $150 each (at $130 each, it would have been ideal) but we did our research and this tour had everything we wanted plus more so it was worth it.

“Fantastic Tour!”
This was a fantastic tour. I spent the day with Simon who had many interesting facts about all of the areas we visited and was very flexible with the day. Beautiful views and all of the stops were lovely! We also saw quite a few wombats, kangaroos, and wallabies! I would recommend bringing proper rain gear as it apparently rains in the Cradle Mountain area 300 days a year and it was certainly wet and rainy when we went. Proper hiking shoes are recommended as well! Will definitely recommend this tour :)

First of all, there are a few things to keep in mind when considering this tour. The policy does not allow any cancels after the booking, so make sure you have made your mind before the final click. Also, be prepared for chances of strong winds and rain, which will affect the choice of gear and sometimes of the trekking route. Both of these points are made clear on the site and we did not experience any problems, but should be kept in mind when planning for your trip.

“Great Tour”
We rated this tour highly as it combined an easy pick up from Hobart with travel in a minibus with 19 other people to Kettering where we boarded the ferry to Bruny Island. We spent a brief period on the North Island but then moved to the South Island via The Neck rated one of the top 10 beaches in Australia. Our guide Andrew had access to a family shack on the island and so was able to show us places that other tours would not see. Along the way we tasted honey, chocolate, cheese and oysters and had a superb seafood meal at Adventure Bay.

We had an excellent tour to Bruny Island on Monday. Pickup and drop off was super easy from the hotel and was on time. All of the stops on the island were great and just the right amount of time allowed at each. A table for lunch at the Bruny Island hotel was prebooked, we just had to work out what we wanted while on the tour and he phone ordered for us. We got some photos at the neck, tried some fresh oysters, had cheese, chocolate and beer. Visited the light house and tried to find some albino wallabies. Great day and excellent tour
“Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Caves”
This tour was an unexpected day in Tasmania (booked just two days before). Huw was an energetic and informative guide with a great sense of humor. The caves were spectacular and the air walk was a fun adventure! Huw kept us engaged with local history and practical information about Tasmania. He clearly loves his home! It was a fine way to spend a day outside of Hobart.

Some in the group seemed a bit miffed that Graeme didn't go on the actual hike, but I think fair enough! That's a lot of walking to do every day, and also - if you read other reviews (like I did beforehand) you'll know to expect that.

A freezing morning turned into a stunning day in the Cradle Mountain National Park. Our driver/guide Graeme was amazing - full of knowledge and expertise not only on the Mountain but also pointing out sites and places of interest along the way. Decent way to get from Launceston to Hobart and the big 3, guides were friendly and knowledgeable.
It was raining pretty much constantly during our first two days (cradle mountain and wineglass bay) but we still had a good time, the views were awesome despite the rain and fog. We also got to see lots of wombats which are really cute.
The third day to Port Arthur is the only reason we didn't want to give the tour five stars. I wish we could spend more time in Port Arthur instead of the Unzoo (which was okay but unremarkable) and Richmond (lovely town but by the time we got there most shops have already closed). The Port Arthur ferry was also really underwhelming.
“Fabulous experience”
Fantastic tour. Graeme was an excellent guide, full of knowledge and provided clear instructions for our hike up the mountain. Certainly recommend this tour, in fact it would be among the top couple of day tours we have ever taken, if not the best.
“Exhilarating but tough day trip”
I did this tour as part of the 'Big Three' three-day tour from Hobart to Launceston. The day started early picking everyone up from their hotels and heading to the first stop, a place offering coffee and all sort of breakfast/lunch options for eat-in or takeaway. After purchasing our breakfast/lunch for the day, we headed towards Cradle Mountain. The first walk was a short but peaceful walk inside the national park. We then hopped back into the van to drive deeper into the national park and closer to Cradle Mountain. We parked by Dove Lake where the guide explained the various options for trails before we all parted ways. A girl I had met on the bus and myself opted for the hike up to Marion's Lookout together. It was a difficult upward climb, especially since we were moving at a fairly quick pace. It took us approximately an hour to reach the top, but once we got up there the views were spectacular. Because we had made such good time, we were able to relax and have lunch without being rushed. Once finished, we headed down towards Dove Lake. The climb down was steeper than expected, but they have a chain rope most of the way you can hold onto. I was grateful for this when my foot slipped a couple of times on the loose stone. We were good on time so we were also able to do the walk around Dove Lake (counter-clockwise from the parking lot). There were a couple of spots with an uphill climb, but this was much easier than the hike up to Marion's lookout. Once we all met back at the van, we drove to another area of the park for a brief chance to roam around and try to spot wombats. Last stop on the tour was to the Ashgrove Cheese Factory to sample cheeses and purchase goodies or ice cream. Overall, it was a long and tiring day, but it was so exhilarating and worth the effort. The guide was also extremely informed and experienced, making the day more enjoyable and run smoothly.
“Cradle Mountain”
I can't speak highly enough about the two days we spent in Cradle Mountain.
Spectacular scenery, wildlife and walking trails, which are created so that there is no impact on the environment.
Firstly you decide which level of walker you are and then choose what walks you would like to take from a map. Buses take you to a number of different walking points. Everything is super well organised.
Wear layers of clothing. The weather can change quickly, hot, windy, rainy, cold then hot again!

“Wonderful landscape”
Wonderful landscape from the Wine Glass bay lookout. Having lunch close to Honeymoon beach was good. We enjoyed hiking with the guide. But we didn't go to " Freycinet Marine Farm" and "the historic Ross Village-“Kiki’s Kitchen” on Overview.

Best way to travel from Launceston to Hobart. You get 2 Tour Guides - Graeme from Launceston to Freycinet was cold, perfunctory and jaded. Clinton from Freycinet to Hobart was warm and knowledgeable about Tassie history which he imparted with passion.
“This is a great trip”
If you're looking to get from one end of Tasmania to the other, this is a great trip. With a stop at Freycinet National Park, to hike and go to the beach, traveling between cities feels fun and more like an excursion. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable and clearly really care about Tasmania.
